i went back to california this weekend for nate and linley's wedding. of course, nate looked great, but linley was absolutely gorgeous! i also loved their color choices - very unique!

the whiteners

this was my first family shoot with the whiteners. i was able to do newborn portraits for asa when he was born, and have been looking forward to working with the whole family!

happy 70th!!

can you believe how many people are in this family? they all got together for their grandma's 70th birthday, many of them coming from out of state. we did some big group portraits, and then individual family ones as well. here are some of them...









these boys got out of their nice clothes and into the sandbox in record time!

first REAL haircut!

i have a phobia about baby mullets. for this reason, when tyler was 6 months, i flow-bied her hair. (if you haven't heard of one, its this cool contraption from infomercials that sucks the hair right up into your vacuum) the flowbie lets you cut it all one length all around the head, so i left a good 2 inches all around so that there weren't any wierd long parts in random places. i then cut it even with her hairline in back until the front caught up, and seriously, it grew in SO NICELY! although my daughters might not like it, if i ever have another girl - i'll definitely do it again!

anyway, tyler's hair was a couple inches below her shoulders and i decided it was time for a real hair cut. i couldn't decide what to do, but of course once my amazing hair girl celeste suggested a cute bob, i went for it! my only regret is that i didn't take pictures right after celeste blowdried it because it looked way better than my job this morning! but i LOVE it!

my mini-session with the new hair was interrupted by a visitor, so these are all the shots i got.

tarryn and riley

tarryn and riley got married on saturday!! they were married in the mesa temple and had the reception at val vista lakes clubhouse. i did a pre-wedding shoot that included some bridals a couple weeks ago, so i've been dying to get these pics up on the blog! i figured i'd wait until the whole wedding was up.

heather and jeff

heather and jeff got married last week at stonebridge manor. it was such a fun day, and i enjoyed spending time with them all! i think we were all a little nervous because it looked like it was going to rain - but it didn't and we had an amazing sky and light.

kindsay and erik

this weekend i got to shoot another AMAZING wedding done by heather and robin of Amorology Weddings. They are so talented, and each wedding ends up looking incredible!

it was such a beautiful day, and kindsay and erik were so sweet together!


the boys were walking up carrying all the parasols for the girls, and they seem quite comfortable with them! :)


kindsay and erik had an asian theme throughout the wedding and reception, and we did some pictures by these cool buddha statues

the lindsays

i had two other family portrait shoots in california before my wedding that i'll be posting soon.

the first is the lindsay family. the girls had fun running around and coming up with poses for me :) and don't let the skirts fool you - these girls were climbing trees!


i told the girls to just relax next to their parents and not be too posed - they all decided to lay down!

the thompsons

i also got to meet the thompson family today! we met at a huge park, and the kids had a great time exploring. you could tell the boys have lots of fun together!





i was shooting like crazy in this spot because i thought the tippy toes were so cute! then i decided to zoom in on just her feet!

back in california

i'm back in california this week for a wedding, and got the opportunity to squeeze in a few portrait shoots. the first was with the provost family. we had a lot of fun, and i really liked the relationships between all the kids!

the kids tried to climb just about every tree in the park, but if i came over, they instantly posed :)

jamie and ron

jamie and ron got married this weekend at Shenandoah Mill - this great old grist mill that has so much character! it was a beautiful day and i really enjoyed spending their special day with them!

the haslips

i did family portraits for the haslip family, and we had a lot of fun! they were all troopers - it may look like a beautiful day, but it was EXTREMELY hot and we also got eaten alive by mosquitos! i don't think i've ever had so many all over me at one time! and aren't they such a gorgeous family?!

soccer season!

blake started his first year of soccer this weekend!!! we are so excited, and it was so much fun to watch him and his friends play.

here is owen cooling blake off with his water bottle - we are obviously new at the soccer thing because we showed up with no blanket to sit on, no chairs, no umbrella for shade, and no water for any of the rest of us! i already have a shopping list for next weekend's game!

and the final huddle! i love how huge the uniforms are on all the boys - i think most of them spent half the game pulling up their shorts!

allison

after two boys, she's finally getting a girl! my friend allison is due in two months and will be having their first girl.




we did some portraits in the baby's room too. its not decorated yet, but the colors are going to be blue and brown with hot pink accents!

sadie and tatum

i was able to do portraits of twin girls the other day. i have to say - i admire all those moms of multiples because i can't even imagine how much work it is! but they are so precious together, so it must have equal rewards!

after a couple snack breaks, they both fell asleep, and then they were out for good!



i love how they are so happy when they're close together.
